A smart specialization park is a designated location, in accordance with the Goverment Order 112/2022, where activities such as innovation, research, experimental development, knowledge transfer, and technological transfer of results related to innovative products/services/processes are conducted. These results are obtained through research-development-innovation activities specific to the domains of smart specialization, including individual and mass production, as well as other activities specific outlined in the national and/or regional smart specialization strategies.
According to the National Strategy for Research, Innovation, and Smart Specialization 2022-2027, approved by Government Decision no. 933/2022, the North-West Development Region aims to surpass its status as an emerging innovator by 2030. This will be achieved through a competitively technological economy, companies employing cutting-edge digital solutions, sustainable actions, a collaborative ecosystem, and by supporting innovators and innovation.
